UdharBook ("we", "our", or "us") is a credit ledger app that helps you track money you lend or borrow. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and how it is protected. By using UdharBook, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information we collect
Google account information (during sign-in)
When you sign in with Google, we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Profile photo
- Unique user ID
Ledger data you enter
The app stores the data you manually enter:
- Customer and supplier names
- Phone numbers (optional)
- Transaction entries (credit and debit)
- Amounts and payment history
- Due dates and notes
Reminder data
To support due-date reminders and notifications, the app stores:
- Reminder date and time
- Reminder message content
- Notification scheduling data (stored locally on your device)
App preferences (stored locally)
- Theme preferences (light/dark mode)
- Language selection
- Tutorial completion status
2. How we use information
We use the collected information to:
- Authenticate users via Google Sign-In
- Store and sync your ledger data across devices
- Display and manage notifications
- Enable CSV export of ledger statements
- Prevent misuse and abuse
3. Where data is stored
Firebase Realtime Database (primary storage - CLOUD)
All your ledger data is stored in Firebase Realtime Database in the cloud under your unique user ID:
- Customer and supplier records
- Transaction entries (credit and debit)
- Amounts and payment history
- Due dates and transaction notes
This allows:
- Access from any device after sign-in
- Automatic sync across devices
- Data backup and recovery
On your device (local storage only)
The following data is stored only on your device using local storage:
- Theme preference (light/dark mode)
- Language preference
- Tutorial completion status
- Notification scheduling data for reminders
Exports
When you export a ledger statement (CSV), files are saved temporarily on your device. You choose where to store or share them. We do not automatically upload exported files to our servers.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Data may be shared only in these situations:
- With Google Firebase services to provide app functionality
- When you manually share an exported CSV file
- When required by law or legal process
- To protect safety, rights, or legal obligations
5. Notifications and messaging actions
UdharBook supports local reminder notifications. When a reminder is triggered, the app may open WhatsApp with a pre-filled message based on the data you entered. Sending the message always requires your action — UdharBook never sends messages automatically.
6. Your choices and controls
You control your data. You can:
- Edit or delete ledger records
- Sign out of your Google account
- Disable notifications in your device settings
- Delete exported CSV files
- Delete your account (see Section 12)
- Uninstall the app to stop further data processing
7. Data retention
Cloud data (Firebase Realtime Database)
Ledger data remains in Firebase Realtime Database until you delete it or delete your account.
Local data (on your device)
Theme, language, and tutorial preferences remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app.
Exported files
CSV files remain until you manually delete them.
8. Children's privacy
UdharBook is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or the minimum legal age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us.
9. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational security measures, including:
- Secure Google Sign-In authentication
- Firebase security rules to protect your data
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS)
However, no system is completely secure. We recommend using device-lock security, keeping backups secure, and avoiding sharing sensitive data publicly.
10. Third-party services
UdharBook relies on third-party services, including:
- Google Sign-In
- Firebase Authentication
- Firebase Realtime Database
- WhatsApp (via device intents when you choose to share)
These services have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes occur, the "Effective" date will be revised and the updated version will be published on this page. Continued use of the app means acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Account deletion
You can delete your UdharBook account and all associated data at any time.
How to delete your account
Option 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)
- Open the UdharBook app
- Go to the Settings tab (bottom navigation)
- Scroll down and tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm your decision
- Your account will be permanently deleted
Option 2: Email Request
If you cannot access the app, send an email to:
- Email: tryeno.official@gmail.com
- Subject: "UdharBook Account Deletion Request"
- Include: The email address associated with your account
We will process your request within 7 business days.
What data is deleted
- User profile (name, email, profile photo)
- All ledger entries stored in Firebase Realtime Database
- Customer and supplier records
- All transaction data
- Amounts, payment history, and notes
What data is NOT deleted
- Local app settings: Theme preferences, language settings, and tutorial status stored only on your device (deleted when you uninstall the app or clear app data)
- Exported files: CSV files you previously downloaded remain on your device until you manually delete them
- WhatsApp messages: Any messages you sent via WhatsApp remain in your chat history
Data retention period
- Account is marked as deleted immediately upon confirmation
- All data is permanently removed from Firebase Realtime Database within 30 days
- Backup and cached data is cleared within the same period
- Once deleted, data cannot be recovered
Reactivation
If you sign in again after deletion:
- A new account will be created
- Previous data will NOT be restored
- You will start with a clean ledger
